My Feast Of Divine Mercy

Mercy Sunday is a day that I will always observe. It is the day that Jesus Christ, through his divine mercy, opens the gates of heaven to all those who would on this day, adore and implore his divine mercy. Yesterday was that great feast day and I spent the day in feverent prayer, veneration of the divine mercy picture, thanksgiving to god, imploring his mercy for myself and for others. I went to mass thrice and prayed for so many people and so many things that I don't know if I left out anything still to be prayed for. I hope that people benefited from this day of grace and mercy abounding.

The feast was instituted by Saint Faustina, who through the request of our lord, established the feast for all mankind for benefit. Not just Roman Catholics. What intensified the experience for me even more was I was on a caramelite retreat in the mountains in a Benedictine monastery in my country. It has a fantatic view of the towns below and forest. And even more it is extremely quiet. What helped me the most was meditating on the passion of our lord to get deeper into the mystery of god's act of divine mercy. What I used was the diary of St. Faustina and I read from the book the Dolorous Passion Of Our Lord Jesus Christ, written by another saint.

This day is really for sinners and I am a big one of those. Trust me. This is what Jesus promised- "let the greatest sinners place their trust in my mercy. They have the right before others to trust in the abyss of my mercy. My daughter, write about my mercy towards tormented souls. souls that make an appeal to my mercy delight me. To such souls I grant even more graces than they ask. I cannot punish even the greatest sinner if he makes an appeal to my compassion, but on the contrary,I justify him in my unfathomable and inscrutable mercy. Write: before I come as a just judge, I first open wide the door of my mercy. He who refuses to pass through the door of my mercy must pass through the door of my justice." this is why I needed to recognize this day.

As I close let me just type out the promise of Jesus Christ to those who adore his mercy on the feast of divine mercy from the diary of blessed Faustina.

"My daughter, tell the whole world about my inconceivable mercy. I desire that the feast of mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of my tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of my mercy. The soul that will go to confession and receive holy communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which grace flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Every thing that exists has come forth from the very depths of my most tender mercy. Every soul in relation to me will contemplate my love and mercy throughout eternity. The feast of mercy emerged from my very depths of tenderness. It is my desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the fount of my mercy."

So mark that date on your calendar, phone, email address etc. to remember and don't forget to say thankyou for mercy shown.

Simplicity and Truth

What really matters in life is really those things that are simple and whose contribution would be seen as insignificant. Everyday people say they are waiting for something big to happen and usually that normally doesn't happen. The further irony is that when it does happen they are not totally happy. I think that inorder for people to be happy, they must start taking the advice of elders. Those elders who are respectable and righteous in the eyes of god and society when they say being rich doesn't mean being happy, or having much doesn't mean happiness. A past living example of this would be the life of Mother Theresa and St. Therese of Lisieux. Have you ever read their autobiographies? Awesome!

I have come to learn that the teachings of the past are most needed in today's self-centered worldly society; where relativism abounds and is constantly leading persons into the darkness. Hiding truth from falsehood. Imagine that today's global culture even rejects the existence of god? I personally cannot see how agnostics and all other persons in that category can reconcile their opinion of truth from what IS true. It seems that these days people are always trying to change the truth, twist it up, and reinvent it. For what purpose? Namely to justify a wrong by denying faith a voice, and using logic and reasoning soley to come to absurd conclusions. And for pride and recognization

An example of this would be is there a soul? Logically and reasonably in the eyes of faith (and sometimes without faith) there is such a thing. But in the eyes of logical alone, seeing that there is no material proof of its existence, people say there is no such a thing.

So now what are we to believe? Deny our own experiences (which is not material proof) of the soul and believe by reason alone? Or instead take into mind our own experiences and religious truths (faith) in assesting what is truth from what is false. Then here we come to another problem. Would secular society accept that there is a god? Of course not so that society would always leave out religious truths in detemining truth, just not to cause any kind of confusion among worldly friends.

I have come to test (through experiences) the authenicity of religious truths about god, man and other thinks like morals, and have also come to the conclusion that they are always right and they should be followed and listened to; but today's society teaches that to be obedient is to be a slave and to be conditioned to believe. But I say that a bad thing? Being a slave to wisdom and being conditioned to good things practices? To me those are the thins that brings joy to mind, body and soul. So in other words, its worth it.

Truth is this, to know god and Jesus Christ the one whom he has sent. This takes into account the testimony of faith and reasoning. One complements the other.
